Jozsef N. Patyi was born in 1946, in the city of Szeged, Hungary, where he spent his early school years. His interest and passion for the fine arts began during this early part of his life. For many years he became a member of a fine arts association in Szeged, where he received an extensive drawing and painting education.

Jozsef immigrated to the United States in 1970, beginning his life in the states in Acron, Ohio. Two years later, he moved to Los Angeles, California, where he attended Harbor College near San Pedro for one year. In 1979, he completed an Associate Degree in Fine Arts at El Camino College in Torrance. The following year, he started attending the University of California, Los Angeles. After one year at UCLA, Jozsef’s formal education ended.

After getting married in 1981, Jozsef moved with his wife and two sons to South Lake Tahoe, California in 1987, where he still lives to this present day. To earn a living, he has been working at a General Electric company for the past 25 years in Minden, Nevada.

Jozsef has continued to produce his artwork throughout these years, as time has permitted. He has produced commissioned works and has numerous paintings exhibited in businesses and the local hospital. Throughout the years, he has also exhibited his work in a number of professional art shows and exhibitions, earning him recognition and awards.
Because of various circumstances, he has never truly had a chance or time to fully pursue his passion as a fulltime fine artist. His dream is to fully dedicate himself to his talent and continue creating works of art.
Though his body of work exhibits many different subjects, his primary interest is in the Western themes and subject matters.
